Technical leadership track vs people management

Need help choosing between the technical or leadership track? I’ll walk through my journey into management and how I made the decision to go the leadership route and the insights that I’ve discovered as I continue in this path. We’ll cover concerns around technical skills, people and organizational skills, switching back to a technical path and I’ll answer any questions that you all may have. I was an engineer for approximately 10 years before I decided to take the leap into management. I’ve now been managing for about 5 years and work at HashiCorp as a Senior Engineering Manager, on Consul Service Mesh. I’ve learned a lot along the way and have also mentored a number of folks who were deciding which way to go as well.
