Circle Description
# The Most Noble of Professions > But....I [have] concluded, if you want to help other people, be a manager. If done well, management is among the most noble of professions. > - Clayton Christensen Early in my career, as I started to take on more managerial and leadership roles, I was fortunate enough to have a mentor. I didn’t ask for him. Rather, he reached out to me. At the time, I didn’t realize it. But, he was taking him time to invest into me. I learned a lot from him. But, funny enough, I do not remember anything specific. I do not recall any tactics, or processes. What sticks out is his willingness to spend time with me. Buy me a coffee. Just catch up. Reflecting on that, it has occurred to me that my experience is probably not unique for many of us in leadership and management roles now. Most of us were probably never formally trained. Instead, we got lucky. We had a mentor who helped. We probably had something in us that came up as high potential leadership material. To me, this is, at once, awesome and such a lost opportunity. I have a passion to raise up great leaders and managers. But, I want to give my time, and my tactics and principles in a durable and meaningful way. In this Circle, we will learn and share tactics and stories on how to create self-awareness & a set of core values. These are building blocks that are essential to your leadership journey!
