Fractional CTO, Technical Advisor, Angel Investor, Principal Engineer at tEQuitable
With 25 years of experience in technical project proposals, I've learned how to get the green light. In that time, I've seen (and sometimes added to) legacy code, spaghetti code, duplicated & similar functions, in both early stage, fast-moving startups and large, mature companies alike. I know the pain of working in code that slows down everything.
I've led architecture reviews and taught my team how to pitch their projects to tough critics. I'm passionate about reducing technical debt and I'm excited to mentor participants in this Circle. I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience in a series of sessions to help them get the green light for their projects.
Circle Description
Have you ever pitched a technical project that you KNEW would help your team, only for it to be turned down or deprioritized? Have you advocated for chipping away at the mounds of legacy code, only to be told to just keep building on top of the toppling building? As a Staff+ Engineer, what do you do when you know that the unwieldy code you are maintaining is slowing down your team and burning everyone out, but you can't get leaders to say yes? How do you convince people that this is worth the time? In this circle, I will guide participants on how to create a tech proposal with the highest chance of success.

Pierre Thirouin - Staff Software Engineer @ BlaBlaCar
I've left every single session getting out more than what I expected. Ei-Nyung always manages to catch the small important details from a conversation and use them to get to the core on an issue being discussed. She often implant bits and pieces of wisdom that I find myself thinking about in my day to day as I navigate through challenges. She's also down to earth and a fun conversationalist!
