I am Shariq Hashmi, Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft, currently heading the Azure Cache for Redis engineering team. In this role, I am responsible for driving the development and growth of this flagship Azure service, built on top of Redis. My main focus is on building a high-performance organization, attracting and retaining top talent, and driving key customer and partner engagement to ensure the success of our product. I am also passionate about promoting Diversity and Inclusion within our team of over 200 professionals. Before my current role, I founded Fundoo Learning, a platform that aimed to make learning fun and engaging for students. Prior to that, I held various leadership positions at Microsoft, including Principal Group Engineering Manager, where I oversaw the development of multiple cloud-based business applications. With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, I have a strong track record of building and leading successful teams and delivering innovative products to market. In my free time, I enjoy mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I strongly believe in the power of mentorship and giving back to the community, and I am a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences. My passion for mentoring also led me to be a part of Plato, a mentorship platform connecting experienced professionals with emerging leaders. I am driven by a desire to continuously learn and grow, both personally and professionally, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
