I am the Director of Engineering at Hootsuite reporting to the VP of Engineering. Hootsuite is a social media management platform. I am responsible for product infrastructure and Mobile. Previously I was Director of Engineering at Absolute Software Corporation reporting to the VP of Engineering. Absolute is a Canadian company that specializes in endpoint security and data risk management solutions. I was responsible for several platform development teams and the UI team for this micro services based architecture. Previously I was Director of Engineering in Simba Technologies, reporting to the VP of Engineering. Simba Technologies provides ODBC and JDBC data connectors for Enterprises and ISVs. I was owner of the SimbaEngine SDK and manager of managers of ODBC/JDBC Driver development teams. My background is Software Development Management with a technical focus. I began in Ireland as a developer in Iona Technologies, became Technical and Engineering Manager in Marconi for five years, and Support/Integration Manager in Sage Ireland for eight years, when I moved to Canada and became a Development Manager/Principal Engineer in Sage Plc for five years, followed by Director of Engineering in Simba Technologies to date. I am a strong people leader and motivator, and have provided successful leadership in all areas of Project Development; including innovation, planning, agile development, continuous quality delivery, and customer support.
