I am Tania Asimionesei, an Engineering Manager at Checkout.com. I joined the company pre-Series A in Dubai as the first engineer, and have since contributed to its hypergrowth and expansion through the engineering teams, located across London, Dubai, and Tallinn. I have managed distributed teams through challenging times, from organizational reshuffles to global pandemics. Additionally, I have established global partnerships with product teams, legal departments, data analysis, security, compliance, and commercial sectors. I am a member of the Women@Checkout Committee, and have championed local and global initiatives, such as the “MENAP Fintech Voices | Inspiring women” series. I also contributed to the launch of Checkout.com’s Engineering Mentorship pilot. Furthermore, I serve as a Customer Advisory Board Member at Vercel, a leadership mentor at Plato, and a speaker at industry events.
