I am Fernando Otero, the Chief Software Architect at Onapsis, where I have been leading the technical vision for 3 key products and guiding a team of 120+ developers. I have spearheaded initiatives that have significantly improved technical efficiency, such as launching a program to reduce technical debt and conducting regular fire drills to ensure team preparedness for production incidents. I have also promoted the adoption of advanced technologies like Containers, Terraform, and CloudInit, which has enhanced our infrastructure's agility and scalability. I have played a key role in successfully launching a SaaS product and negotiating technical roadmaps with management. I have also been instrumental in RIF negotiations and strategy formulation. Throughout my career, I have always been passionate about mentoring and guiding my team to achieve their full potential, which has been recognized and appreciated by my colleagues. Prior to that I have vast experience in Search and Personalization, leading significant changes at Rappi, OLX and Avenida.com In my free time, I enjoy pursuing my passion for Plato's philosophy and mentorship by volunteering with various organizations that provide mentorship opportunities to underprivileged youth. I firmly believe that mentorship plays a crucial role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and I am committed to making a positive impact in this area.
