Manager, Operations Engineer, Software engineer and XP coach Lead a small team of engineers supporting Network operations by building event parsing tools, monitoring, mapping, visualization, and reporting tools to assist in failure analysis and response. We built internal tooling to trace mobile application failure through the network, filter and correlate events, and some very early web based reporting systems. An early Java advocate, I became Nextel's representative to the Sun MIDP working group which defined the first Java implementation on a mobile device in North America. I supported Nextel's developer community through forums, public talks, and training. On the infrastructure side I supported enterprise customers, and operations and engineering teams in resolving mobile application performance and delivery issues. I was a frequent speaker at Sun's JavaOne conference.
