Chartboost

Feb 2011 - current

Chartboost is trying to be the business engine for games. We currently work with the biggest names in mobile games, everyone from TinyCo, Pocket Gems to Zynga and EA, we have partnerships with thousands of developers, over 5000 games and we are killing it in the revenue department, we’ve been profitable for over a year. Our platform deals with tons of traffic, hundreds of servers, hundreds of millions of requests per day, scaling challenges across the board. Not too many engineering teams of this size get to work with this magnitude. Plus, Chartboost is a really awesome place to work, we have hackathons, we have free dinners, we have a great team and we all enjoy coming to work. We have a great company culture, we are making money and we have some awesome projects on the roadmap that we think will blow up.

Head of the Tapulous Labs Studio

Disney Mobile

Sep 2010 - Feb 2011

Conceptualized an independent studio within Tapulous focused on bringing casual games to market in a short and optimized amount of time. My tasks included overall team and project management as well as engineering responsibilities on both client and server. Our first launch produced a top 25 ranked iPhone app.

Senior Software Engineer

Tapulous

Jan 2008 - Sep 2010

2nd official employee at Tapulous. Built and managed the original server architecture for all Tapulous apps and was the sole full-time engineer running the backend for the first 2 years of the company. Some highlights include growing a backend system for Tap Tap Revenge from scratch to 20M+ users, working in all types of leading engineering realms (native iPhone, front end, backend, analytics) and coordinating the engineering side of big marketing deals with companies like Microsoft, Groupon, Disney and Fox.

Software Engineer

Pubiao Corporation

Oct 2006 - Oct 2007

Worked as a web engineer for one of Shanghai's leading educational software providers. A majority of my time was spent leading educational web development projects in a slew of different web technologies, PHP, JSP and ASP.net. Also represented the company by attending several major ISO conference meetings held in various cities in China relating to educational software.

Lead Web Developer

VCEL

Jan 2005 - Feb 2006

I was in charge of writing the initial backend code and social networking web site for the mobile startup. In addition to doing all the database design, backend coding, I also coordinated with designers and singlehandedly coded most of the web front end for the site. The company was acquired by FotoChatter in late 2008.

Web Developer

Infinite Studios

Jan 2004 - Jun 2006

Developed standard brochure-style websites for companies in the Souther California area. Most of the clients were in the Real-Estate business and the work ranged from doing LAMP stack backends to Flash scripts to front-end javascript / css / html work. Part of my duties also included meeting with current and potential clients, coordinating and assessing various tasks and working with the clients throughout the course of the project.
