I'm interested in why: especially "whys" that are explained by the tangled mass of energy and chemicals in our heads. As a researcher and product strategist, creative thinking and strong execution are key to my work. As a collaborator open to new ideas, I help to create great user experience. I'm also an organizer for two meetups in Portland: ProductTank PDX and Synapsistic Neuroscience Community. I was once making a documentary about AI and people https://accelerationthemovie.com. As a consultant and entrepreneur, I'm focused on user experience and creating a connection with users. In the past, I've worked as a senior product manager at a B2B tech company as well as leading communications and marketing in the tech and film industries. I've been a speaker and panelist at a number conferences and events, including Grace Hopper Celebration, Mind the Product Leadership Forum, SXSWi, Innovate/Activate, Product Camp Seattle, Product Tank PDX, The Conversation, Hot Docs, IFP Doc Labs, SF Film Society, and Independent Film Week. I'm interested in how current & future technologies can affect the way we use our brains, and in free speech, copyright, user interaction, and creativity. I tweet at @laurex and @synapsistic (learning and neuroscience).
