Dominique Simoneau-Ritchie

With over 20 years of experience as an engineer in the tech industry, I've built and led engineering teams at Shopify, Lever, Wealthsimple, IBM and BlackBerry -- leading teams as large as 270+ engineers. I love building things well, and as such I've redesigned and built platforms and APIs from the ground up for many of the places I've worked. I launched the first BlackBerry 10 device on QNX, and then adapted what we built to QNX Car for millions of drivers to enjoy. I was among the first to create GraphQL APIs for Shopify and enhanced Lever's platform to make it easy to significantly increase the number of Lever’s integrations. Building diverse teams, and particularly gender-balanced ones, is a passion of mine. At Wealthsimple, I increased the representation of people that identify as women and non-binary in engineering by 10 percentage points to 30%. In leadership, that percentage grew from 5% to 35%.
