Betty Luk

As a technical leader with 20 years of experience, I have held many different roles in engineering, technical program management, and roadmap/strategy. I take an empathetic and pragmatic approach and have built high performing teams from scratch. By focusing on what really matters, I have brought clarity to complex situations and achieved results in ambiguous environments. Through my work as a manager and as an individual contributor, I have worked with many different cross-functional partners and across all levels. My experience spans large and small companies, and across the stack: silicon, systems, hyperscale infrastructure, and reliable distributed applications. I have also served on non-profit boards where I can give back to the community. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to have had mentors and coaches who have supported me by being a trusted sounding board, providing insights, and giving me a safe space to learn and grow. I aim to do the same for others! Topics I’m passionate about include: working cross-functionally, prioritization, building lightweight / sustainable frameworks, and managing a team (being a new manager, setting team culture, hiring for success, communicating transparently).
