Jose Arzuaga

👋 Hi there! My name is José, and I'm an engineering leader currently working for GitHub. I believe that everyone has an inherent desire to do great things and my job is to channel that into actions folks can take to learn and grow while doing the best work of their careers as software engineers. I was an individual contributor for many years myself, and I have many insights (and opinions 😉) about the pitfalls managers fall into while trying to lead their teams. I am not perfect, nor I strive to be. Instead, I believe that through learning to spot what decisions are reversible, having a bias for action, and just generally doing stuff so we can learn from it, you can get to outcomes you can be proud of. To me, the whole world is a lab and I'm here to help you decide what experiments and investments to run to maximize your growth. I believe in the power of "yet", in leading a courageous life in and out of work, and in being vulnerable with each other (with the appropriate boundaries 🙌) and use that as a platform for living a more fulfilling work life.
