I grew up in Shanghai and went to the States for a MS degree in Engineering. Lucky enough, after graduation, I started my career in Bloomberg, Trading System department as a software engineer. With the help of my peers, managers and professional coaches, I built a new engineering team from ground up and grew into a manager in 2016. Deeply influenced by one of the company values "Be bold and take calculated risk", I started to explore startups in different stages and different industries. Through the journey, I got the opportunities to lead multiple teams and grow engineers / first-time engineering managers advance towards their career goals. Looking back my career, I am grateful of the mentorship and coaching I received and understand how much of a difference they make.
